Methodology for Success

Psychology of selling
There
is one, easy to follow methodology of selling yourself that will ensure
you make the right impression on your interviewer. No matter what
market or industry you are wishing to work in. There are sites on the
internet which sell similar information but none that will give this
advice away for free.
For
the following I will use the example of a sales person looking for a
job in a mobile phone shop but this is applicable for ALL JOBS.
Firstly...
Highlight the reason that you are being invited for the job.
So the shop needs to sell phones, for that purpose it requires accomplished sales people.
From this you can assume that the company feels it can sell more phones than it is currently, due to their need to recruit.
Secondly...
consider the ways in which you fill the need that
they have presently and better than the people waiting outside for
their shot.
This is how you do it....
Identify the criteria for being a succesful sales person.
Target driven, money motivated, unafraid of rejection, etc.
These are the features of the job that you need to fulfill.
Think of areas in your past where you have used these skills successfully. Be imaginative. You need to find evidence to show these things that the interviewer can understand, so the use of figures is beneficial here.
Thirdly...
Combine these two things with the way in which it will help the interviewer to solve their problem
e.g
|
| Need | Example | The way it will help |
| Target Driven | You exceeded sold 20 awnings on a target of 10 in one month in your previous role. | 'This will mean I have the previous experience of exceeding targets which will make me a success within this role.' |
If
you can, when selling yourself, structure all points like this, you
will blow away the opposition. They will be focusing on one part of the
above diagram. It is important to use all elements to increase the
impact you have within the meeting.
